Pro Photographer Ripped Off By Similarly Named Hacks
My daughter graduated college last year and she ordered her portraits, which I paid for. She had jet-black hair, on a black background with a black robe. She looked like one big white face. No back-light, so side-light, nothing.
One light. It is SO SIMPLE to add a second light and show some dimension in the portrait! I've added an example that I shot, same daughter, same background but with a hair light. Why aren't they doing this when they are selling prints for 2-3 times what I do for weddings?
I suggest that you find a local photographer in your area and hire them. It'll cost the same in the end and you have a face to go complain to... To tell you the truth, I'm pretty tired of getting hateful emails and phone calls from all over North America complaining about the photos that I have taken. My company is Prestige Photo (www.PrestigePhotoPro.com) not Prestige Portraits. I added site address for credibility.

High School Session Fees????????
I think it is absolutely ridiculous that this company has the audacity to charge a sitting fee for the amount of poses. It is their job to make sure that they capture the correct pose/lighting/facial expression/posture, etc.
of the person they are taking the photograph of - especially for all yearbook pictures. So what they are telling you is that if you go for the free session which they are only allowed to snap "6" shots, you better hope that at least 1 comes out good. The person who pays the $40 - they will have more to pick from. You are the photographer, it is your job to make sure that all of the pictures you take are good!
What a disgrace on your part.

Total Rip OFF
I'm in agreement with everyone else. Took my son to Prestige through his school and this is a total ripoff!!
500.00 for a package of photos with the lowest being 80.00 for (4) 4x5's and 16 wallets are you serious!! I wish I had known. I knew they would cost more than normal school photos but this is ridiculous. My daughter will be a senior in a few years and no way will I do this again.
I can get professional pictures taken at my home or in an outside setting for a fraction of the cost.
This is not affordable to so many including myself!! I dont understand this at all.

Prestige portrait packages for seniors
I can't believe they charge 500 for the same packages they sell for all other grade levels for 60 dollars. It is pure greed and so unfair for the many families that want graduation pictures for their children but can't really afford them.
I can't believe the school system allows this to go on. Furthermore, there aren't any pictures in a cap and gown, just a black drape. I can afford these but refuse to buy them and will not buy any during fall and spring.
We have a photographer that will take pictures for a minimal fee and we can print our own.
Thanks prestige, life touch, I will be sure to pass that information to as many of your customers that I can

Prestige Portraits College Graduation Photo Review from Southampton, New York
This company is ridiculous. My school hired them for my senior portraits and in order to get cap and gown photos, you have to pay for a package that includes regular outfit poses.
When my brothers graduated 2 years ago, the school used a different company and they each got about 20 pictures in both the black and white tux, and the cap and gown portraits as part of the free package, but this year with prestige portraits, the free package only includes 5 portraits in the drape/tux. After getting my portraits done, I was irritated to realize I was not getting a cap and gown photo, so I contacted the online help service to see if during my school's retakes I would be able to take only cap and gown photos, and they knew nothing at all, and directed me to call the local studio. When I called the studio, I spent quite some time on hold, and when a person finally picked up, she was incredibly rude, and spoke over me and wouldn't actually listen to what I was saying. And not only do you have to pay for the packages, that doesn't include prints, so after spending money on pricy packages, you then have to order overpriced photos.
I am very very very disappointed with this company and the fact that my school hired them. I do not recommend.

Prestige Portraits Customer Care Review
Wow. 569.00 for a couple of pictures?
I paid a small sitting fee, and asked the photographer for a picture with my son in cap and gown, so I could just get a small package-that usually costs 50-60 dollars, and when I went to order after seeing proofs, the packages started at 170 and went up to 570! What are you kidding me?????
I had my wedding photographer for money like this for an 8 hour day-this was a fifteen minute one pose photo shoot!
What the heck is this racket they've got going? I feel like they are taking advantage of people, they don't even give you any idea that their packages are this ridiculously priced, they suck you in with the small sitting fee, then trick you!

Poor customer service
I received someone else's order while mine was missing in the delivery. So I called up the published customer service no 1-80*-736-**** which is always engaged. After being placed on hold for 10 min, I was asked to make a call to Sales Support to have things fixed. The first agent didn't know what to do and told me there wasn't anything in his database on how to resolve operation mishaps. So he said he had to consult his supervisor. But of course he didn't call me back. I reluctantly called again to get the Sales Support no (too fed up to argue any more). Sales Support said I had to return the wrong items with a fresh UPS label and drop off while they would send me the missing items.
So ridiculous! Customer Service hotline is for making more sales customer complaints or operation mess up. And you pay $200 for just 2 5x7 framed photos and poor customer service and operation (sitting costs are separate). I pay top notch and would expect a top notch experience. Things do go wrong, but can't customer service handle them with few cliches!
By the way, LifeTouch and Prestige Portraits are just the same group/company. I wish the school could find a better vendor in future.
